The article presents a critical edition, with translation into English, of three troubadour texts which constitute a poetic exchange, originally between Dalfi d’Alvernhe and Baussan, on the subject of which couple, of four possible pairings produced by two lovers of different ages, is the most praiseworthy. The variant readings and forms of address indicate that the texts were reworked into a second, shorter and quite distinct version which involved Baussan and a certain Uc.
